Accommodations
For national and international visitors there are two in-campus national and international guest houses. Beside these, there is a guest house of the university in Dhaka, the capital city of the Bangladesh. Please click for details. For students there are 9 boys' dormitories, 5 girls' dormitories and one dormitory for PhD students. For more details please click here



Health Services
Bangladesh Agricultural University Health Care Centre offers free medical service and free pathological examinations to students, teachers and staffs of the University. The Centre provides service round the clock, seven days a week, with 12 doctors working in different shifts. The Centre also has dental unit, x-ray department and one ambulances. The Centre has in its premises arrangement for 10 bed accommodation for students suffering from contagious diseases for example chicken pox, mumps in isolation. Languages
The medium of instruction and assessment are both in English across various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at BAU. The Department of languages of BAU offers different  English courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and for exchange students following Common European Framework of References for Language Skills. For details click here

Students' Mentoring, Counseling and Guidance

The student Mentoring, Counseling and Guidance Service is an integral part of the academic programmes of students of the teaching Departments and Institutes of the University. It aims in helping students to adjust to campus life, effectively pursue curricular as well as co-curricular activities, develop their abilities for making wise choices and plans, and solve individual problems through counseling and mentoring. Teachers act as mentors who provides guidance, support, and a positive role model for students (mentees)

Health Insurance
Teachers and other staffs of the university get health insurance benefits under the agreement between the university and the Pragati Life Insurance PLC. The health insurance scheme for the students are going to start shortly.

Sports and Extracurricular Activities

The Bangladesh Agricultural University organizes sports and other extracurricular and recreational activities. The Office of the Director of Physical Education provides two types of programmes-coaching major games and sports, and Intramural and Extramural programmes. The University arranges sports among students of different faculties and students' dormitories in addition to national sports & games. Supports to Students with Special Needs

BAU is committed to providing equal facilities to students with special needs. We work closely with our faculties and staffs to ensure that the services necessary for them are met during admission and studying periods at BAU. The support service for them includes ramps on the pavements for easy access, providing disable friendly chair and tables etc. Recently we have opened a branch of the Centre for Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP) at our campus that also support our students to cope with physical challenges.  Importantly we have ongoing evaluation and continuous improvements of our support services for our students with special needs. 

Transport 

Bangladesh Agricultural University has its own transport services for students with adequate number  of vehicles/bus which communicate with Mymensingh city. The bus schedule for different parts of the city can be found in the transport section. For details click here
