We offer first-class agricultural education with a focus on practical skills and professional relevance at the expense of lower tuition fees and living costs.

There are six faculties namely Faculty of Veterinary Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology and the Faculty of Fisheries. These faculties equipped with modern classrooms and laboratories offer both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. As a central facility Professor Muhammed Hussain Central Laboratory provides common analytical, sophisticated instrumental and research support to all departmental teachers, researchers and students. BAU has a galaxy of more than 600 qualified teachers. Most of them have been awarded PhD from renowned universities around the world.  Not only that, but BAU has excellent student support services. There are nine and five dormitories for male and female students, respectively with three more under construction. The Government is investing huge money to expand our campus with innovation centre cum research laboratories.

Currently more than 100 international students from Nepal, Malaysia, Japan and Nigeria are studying with us. Most of them are studying for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM); many are studying Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Hons.) and some are studying for post graduate degrees.

BAU has a truly beautiful green campus. It has a breathtaking location. It is situated in the bank of the old Brahmaputra river with an area of around 1200 acre that houses agricultural teaching and research facilities. This is the largest and the pioneer agricultural university in Bangladesh and one of the top ranked universities in Asia. Plenty of green spaces with walkways, lawns, crop-fields and trees in addition to the bank of the river make the BAU a wonderful place to study in a peaceful atmosphere. BAU has a large Germplasm Centre - the centre is the second largest of its kind, the largest being Miami Germplasm Centre in Florida of the USA, a botanical garden, a agriculture museum, and a fish museum. A couple of reputed national research institutes namely Bangladesh Institutes of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) and Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI) are located within the BAU campus resulting an opportunity to conduct joint research. BAU campus is 5 kilometer far from district city centre that is easily accessible and can be reached in 15 minutes by University transport. The campus is nearly 125 kilometer distant from Dhaka, the capital city which could be easily reached by public transports (direct bus, train etc) or by university transportation services at subsidized rates.
Our students can also participate in different extracurricular activities e.g., joining to different cultural organizations at teacher-student centre- an all-campus activity centre designed for relaxation and guidance. They can also participate indoor and outdoor games in gymnasium and stadium, respectively.
